Zechariah’s song celebrates God’s faithfulness in bringing salvation and redemption through Jesus, the “rising sun” who shines light into the world’s darkness. While the world is marred by suffering, fear, and the effects of the Fall, God steps into our darkness with mercy and hope. While we wait for God’s perfect timing, we are asked to remember His faithfulness, trust, acknowledge, and thank Him for His presence. The battle has been won, we are saved and there is no reason to fear with God on our side, so turn away from anxiety and embrace the path of peace that only He provides.
