Scripture: Psalm 22
God’s abandonment fell on Jesus as He bore our sin — darkness covered the land and He cried, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Then three shafts of light broke through: Jesus completed the work of paying our debt, the temple curtain was torn opening direct access to God, and death’s victory was overturned so everyone is welcome to come into God’s presence by trusting Christ.
