Jesus had uncountable riches in heaven until he made himself poor by coming into the world and experiencing poverty. Because of our distance from God we were poor, but through Jesus’s sacrifice we became rich through salvation. The Bible never calls us to give generously but because of God’s generosity towards us, we also give generously to one another.
